2007 South Dakota State Fair - ATTENDANCE IS UP
September 4, 2007(Huron, SD) - This year's fair is off to a great start! Large crowds have been observed during the first few days of the fair and if the weekend holds up to expectations, the staff and volunteers expect a record crowd at this year's South Dakota State Fair.
Today (Saturday) the EXCITEMENT continues at the Fair!
It's Farmers Union Day - You and the kids will be winners Saturday at the SD Farmers Union Tent near the Freedom Stage! Start the day 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the Chat-N-Coffee, featuring free coffee and rolls while you meet legislators and other local elected leaders. Then pay only the farmer's share of the cost of a meal at the Farmers' Share Meal from 11 a.m. to noon. At 1 p.m., join the crowd at the Freedom Stage for the SD Farmers Union Forum. Kids' activities will be held 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the SD Farmers Union Tent. Drawings will be held to the evening grandstand entertainment. Best of all, you and the family will have a great time!
Tonight in the Grandstand it's a great night of country music with Clay Walker and Neil McCoy on stage with Dustin Evans and the Goodtime Band starting the show at 7pm Goldstar Amusements Carnival Midway opens up at 10am and runs until Midnight!
Kate Wismer, Miss South Dakota and reigning Miss South Dakota State Fair, will be on the NWE Freedom State at 1:45pm & 2:45pm
All SD Class of 1957 50th reunion show host by Sherwin and Pam Linton & "The Cotton Kings" 2pm, Centennial Stage
Dacotah Star Competition preliminaries at 5:10 pm NWE Freedom Stage
Welde's Big Bear show has been a big hit; make sure you catch the shows at 1:15pm, 3:30pm and 6:00pm today
Duane Reichert, backstage with a rodeo clown, 10am, 12pm & 6:30pm, Dakotaland Stage.
Eclipse performs in the Beer Garden tonight following the Grandstand entertainment.
Crash Anthem (formerly known as Skywynd), 9:30pm, NWE Freedom Stage
