SD State Fair 1st Financial Bank USA BBQ Beef Cook-Off

(Huron, SD) - Do you brag about how you have the most mouth watering beef brisket around? Then bring your culinary expertise to the SD State Fair! Applications are now available for the 1st Financial Bank USA BBQ Beef Cook-Off to be held on Sunday, September 2.

The first place champion in the BBQ Cook-Off will receive a cash prize of $500. Second and third place winners will receive $250 and $125, respectively. All place winners will receive a trophy.

Fairgoers will also have an opportunity to choose who they think has the winning BBQ beef. People's choice judging will start at 4:00 pm. Additional beef briskets for the people's choice competition are being sponsored by the SD Beef Industry Council. The people's choice winner will take home a cash prize of $50 and a trophy.

Applications for the 1st Financial Bank USA BBQ Beef Cook-Off can be found at the SD State Fair office or online at www.sdstatefair.com under the special events link. To enter, fill out the application and send to SD State Fair, 890 3rd St. SW, Huron, SD 57350 or simply drop it off at the SD State Fair office. Entries must be submitted and/or postmarked by August 20. Late entries will incur a $10 late fee.
