Greet Your Clients with Style: Welcome them with a smile. Offer a refreshment if they are asked to wait. Have a live person answer the phone if you can or at least use a professional voice mail system on your phones. In many cases the clients’ first contact with your business is over the phone, and it’s important to make a good first impression.

Network: Get out there and let everyone know about your business. Optimize the free or low cost resources offered to you by joining your local Chamber, Leads Groups or your Industry Association. Chamber mixers are a great way to start.

Cross-Promote: Look for companies you share customers with and help promote each other’s business. One way you could do this is to share coupons for those businesses with your customers, and vice versa.

Offer a Guarantee: More people are willing to try and recommend a new business if “Satisfaction Guaranteed” is offered. Express that guarantee in your message, and then follow through with it.

Customer Appreciation: Show your customers how much you appreciate their business with a simple thank you card. Or even better yet stop by and thank them in person. This shows them you care about their business.
