What's New in the Video Department

For this newsletter, I had a very difficult time deciding which commercials I wanted to showcase; all of them were very appealing. After a long debate, I narrowed it down to two choices.
The first commercial was done by for the South Dakota Department of Health. This was a very challenging commercial for me. I made several attempts at the look for this spot, but I was unhappy with the way they were going. Then finally, it came very clear to me; just connect the dots to help tell the story. Combined with the print pieces, this was a very classy and effective campaign for the State.
Finally, the last spot is an underwriting sponsorship to play on South Dakota PBS for Eagle Design Build. This spot is only 10 seconds long, but it shines. I had to learn a few new tricks to get the desired look, but the end result is exactly what I wanted, and the client was very happy with it.
In addition Tim and I have been coaching our part-timer, Aaron Selmanson, on our AVID and Final Cut Pro. Aaron has been with us for a couple months now helping out on various projects. Aaron is an accomplished videographer and has worked with companies such as ESPN, ABC, Versus and the Outdoor Life Network. We plan to fully utilize him to his fullest potential during the Sturgis Rally in August.
Speaking of August, that will be a very busy month. In addition to the Sturgis Rally, we will also be working on the Central States Fair and the Wyoming State Fair; and new this year is the South Dakota State Fair. I am looking forward to working closely with the State Fair Staff and spending some time in Huron.
